Latest Highlights Q2 2026
In the second quarter (Q2) 2026, retail sales recorded a negative growth of 1.7 per cent year-on-year, after decreasing by 0.1 per cent in Q1 2026. On a quarter-on-quarter basis, retail sales recorded a decrease by 11.6 per cent following an increase of 9.5 per cent in Q1 2026.
The total value of retail sales in Q2 2026 was estimated at BND386.5 million. Almost one-third (25.1 per cent) was contributed by Department Stores with sales worth BND97.1 million, followed by Supermarkets (BND69.5 million or 18.0 per cent).
In terms of volume, retail sales recorded a negative growth of 2.9 per cent year-on-year in Q2 2026, after decreasing by 1.5 per cent in Q1 2026. On a quarter-on-quarter basis, retail sales recorded a negative growth of 12.9 per cent after increasing by 10.4 per cent in Q1 2026.
